"Making Jesus Christ the Lord of Our Lives"

Reasons Why We Do Not Want To Acknowledge Him As Lord . . . 1) He may ask us to do something that we do not want to do. 2) We think we know what is best for us. 3) We are not sure that God has our best interests at heart. Lordship revolves around the fact that He wants to get involved in our lives (cf. Jeremiah 29:10-14).

"Making Jesus Christ the Lord of Our Lives"

What It Means To Acknowledge Him As Lord . . . Lordship means recognizing we were bought with His blood & surrender all to Him. It leads to a mutual commitment . . . receiving & giving, and our willingness to commit totally to God. It also involves the recognition that we cannot fight our own battles (cf. James 4:6-8a)

"Making Jesus Christ the Lord of Our Lives"

Why Does Jesus Want To Be Our Lord . . . When we look into the mirror of the "Truth" of God's Word, we will realize without Him we are like ships drifting without direction, and our propensity for evil. Because of Jesus' lordship, He desires to get involved in our lives, so He can tell us when it is safe to move ahead and when it is best not to move (cf. Prov. 3:5-8).
